sweet

yeah i missed your reply....that is exceptionally TIGHT footage, and new to me...yippy!!....i know there has to be more vid out there..... this is really cool.... jerry obviously has no skills, he is just banging away with childlike abandon. wonder.... why?

and the steel pans the beam or wood blocks or whatever... these 78 drums get like a crazy HIMALAYAN VIBE going.... really..... they make me feel like i am at some sort of new age crystal church on the steppes of the himalaya in tibet or something.... prayer wheels spin, visions of ancient deities dance, prayer flags blow along a line from a pole on the tip of a precipice, and jerry is playing drums now??

nice work J.WATER

Thanks! I have a confession. The last 2 Dead shows I ever saw before I left the mainland for good and moved to Hawaii were the 4/21 and 4/22/78 shows in Lexington and Nashville, a little over a week after that footage was filmed. The drums were a high light for me at that time and I remember the band being really into the shows and the audiences and how much the crowd got into the drums. It was really hypnotic. Check out those shows on the archive sometime. I thought people might get a good laugh out of Jerry playing drums on video and having a high time!
BTW do you know who the freak in the glasses is banging on the pots and pans during drums?
